Well, not for high risk drivers! I am assuming you are high risk, because if you had a clean record and good credit, Progressive can beat most standard companies.

Ya cannot purchase a Cadillac for the price of a Yugo! Sounds like that is what you are trying to do.

Try Cost-u-Less insurance. I got a really good rate through them. But if you have got a DUI or something you will pay more wherever you go.

Answer from a General Insurance Agent

Yes, Insurers want to see your driving history for 3 to 5 years before they will offer you a preferred rate.

Without a driving history you are considered a High Risk because the insurance company does not yet know how responsibly you act behind the wheel.

I’m 23 and I have had Westfield Insurance since I was 16. It’s pretty cheap especially if you pay for 6 months at a time. My bill is usually $ 300 each 6 months.

Unfortunately, Cheap automobile insurance is an oxymoron. But you should be able to find relatively cheap automobile insurance.

I think the cheapest way would be to get the most basic kind, liability, and let your parents get it. Also, you might be able to get a discount if you have good grades – check it out.

I answered a similar question like this a couple weeks back.

Insurance rates vary from company to company, so, your ideal bet would be to obtain a quote from different insurance companies to see who can provide you with the ideal rate. Only obtaining the rate from one company will not let you know if you are getting the ideal rate.
If your automobile is being financed (you are still paying on it), you would want to have comprehensive and collision coverage. Both of these coverages require that you choose a deductible, which is the amount you are required to pay before the insurance company pays. Pick limits that are inexpensive for you in the event you have an accident (mainly go with the $ 250 deductible option). Also, pick liability limits that will protect you if you cause an accident, and that will prevent you from being sued in the end. For example, you have limits of 25/50/10 meaning that $ 25,000 will be paid for bodily injury up to $ 50,000 and $ 10,000 will be paid if you damage property. That might be the say limit, but if you hit a Hummer, you are out of luck and the other driver can sue you. Pick your limits wisely.

Also, because you are leasing, make sure to choose loan/lease payoff (also called gap coverage). This coverage will help you in the event you have an accident, your automobile is totaled, and you owe money to the finance company. You need to finance a automobile instead of lease one….then you can carry lower limits even if you still want full coverage…leased limits are a lot higher than what is required for a financed car….you have to carry at least 100,000 per person 300,000 per accident for bodily injury and a min of 50,000 property damage on a lease….but for example if you lived in florida you would only have to carry 10,000 per person and 20,000 per accident….new york is 25,000/50,000 and so on and so forth…

So you will either pay more insurance and not own the automobile at the end of the lease or you will pay less insurance and a bit more for your automobile but it will be yours when the loan is paid…..personally I think leases are a rip off…plus you have mileage limitations….normally 12,000 per year and the average used to be that but in the past years it has changed to 15,000….just be careful.

i had it on a older model dodge and it only cost me around 138 bucks a year,and they said drive it any where i wanted to,but there was limitations on the type weather you could drive it in,no snow,and no bad weather,but other than that i drove it all over the place,they did not care about the mileage though,it was grundysinsurance.com.was who i had it with,its good insurance to have and it had full coverage on it also,good luck with it hope this helps.

it depends on what kind of insurance you are looking for if you want basic liability (actual cash value) its cheap but if you want a said value policy which will basically cover what you put into the cars worth, will cost more so it could run pretty high.

I have a ’65 Ford p-u that I pay classic automobile ins on. It is only $ 50. each six months. The only down side is you are only supposed to drive it 3,000 miles a year. I carry ins through Say Farm
